PLYMOUTH WEEKEND What a weekend in Plymouth! The weather was cold and windy for the spectators
at the parade but the marchers ended up tired and sweaty. There were plenty of CT Hurricanes Alumni in the parade marching
with the CT Alumni and the Park City Pride. Tom Swenson and Charlie King ( Hey thats me! ) came all the way from Florida to
have a good time with old friends and to keep our chops in shape. For any of you out there who might be thinking about
trying it one more time, both of these groups will offer a good experience with minimal time commitment. The show Saturday
night was alot of fun and the crowd was very friendly. CT Alumni went on first and we did a little drill to compliment our
music. I didn't get to see any of the other corps because it was party time at the hotel right after we got off the
stage. Going on on first is nice as it doesn't cut into your party time too much.
Rally at the Subalpi Club 9/28/2007
What a night! the club was jumping with present and former
Hurricanes. Ten dollars got you raw clams and an open bar. Looking
good for someone in an ongoing battle with cancer was Mark Burel. He is very upbeat and would love to hear from his old marching
buddies. Former corps directors in attendance
included Arnie Juliano, Ed Yagavanne and Tom Gabianelli. Tom you might know is the current corps president and is the
driving force behind the new look and new equiptment the corps fielded this year. The
topic of the night was how good the corps was this past season and how good things were looking for next year. Newly
announced show coordinator, Jim Dugan, was giving hints of what he had in mind for the 2008 show. Corps director, Bernie Malesky,
said an announcement would go out as soon as all the details of the show and staff were finalized. I was selling the new Hurricane Alumni patch when I wasn't eating
and drinking too much. They are $5.00 each and everyone that bought one made at least an additional $5.00 donation for
the Alumni Association. Thanks guys, the money will go towards keeping the web site going. Plans
are in the works for another rally around Christmas. Stay tuned. Charlie

CT Hurricanes Alumni Association Eighth Annual Charity Golf Outing 2007
The Connecticut Hurricanes Alumni Association held its Eighth Annual Charity Golf Outing in benefit of the
CT Hurricanes Drum & Bugle Corps. The outing was held August 27, 2007 at Alling Memorial Golf Course, New Haven. CT. The
2007 Honoree for the event was Art Hlywa.
What an outstanding day it was. The ten foursomes had a great time losing balls and exaggerating their scores.
In attendence were six former or current Corps directors. Bob Glovna, Bob Findley, Rich Mastrioani,
Tom Gabiannelli,
Al DeSantis, and Bernie Malesky. All proved once again that they were better corps directors than golfers.
The golf committee would like to thank all of the individuals that donated prizes for the raffle.
We would also like to thank the volunteers that made the tournament run smoothly.
Annette Hlywa, Linda (Totten) Shelby, Rich Eaton and Dan Bartram all worked very hard to make this a fun and
succsessful event.
The ninth annual golf tournament will be Monday June 23rd, 2008, at Alling Memorial.
