Robert Glovna - ALS Community of Hope Page

As you may have already heard, Robert Glovna, our dear friend and mentor, long time Connecticut Hurricanes director, member of the World Drum Corps Hall of Fame and more recently the director for The Park City Pride Drum & Bugle Corps has been diagnosed with ALS, or, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease! A fund has been established in Bob's name thru the ALS Foundation and we encourage his many friends and contacts in the drum corps community to visit the ALS site and make a contribution. The "Connecticut Hurricanes Alumni Association" Official website. The Alumni Association is open to all former members in good standing of the Connecticut Hurricanes and is intended to provide social, as well as, recreational opportunities to our members, and a chance to network with our diverse group of Alumni, stay in-touch and keep abreast of accomplishments via a periodic newsletter. A portion of the revenue generated by the Hurricanes Alumni Association will be donated to the CT Hurricanes competitive corps. It is our wish that the moral support and monetary considerations we can afford will round out our mission and assist in propelling the Connecticut Hurricanes into the 21st Century as a high caliber sharply competitive drum corps, and perpetuate the legacy of the pride and accomplishment we all feel for having been part of the Hurricanes family. .

December 5, 2009 - Hurricanes Finish Regular Season on Top in Bridgeport, CT The Connecticut Hurricanes nearly had to contend with a real hurricane heading towards them as they finished the 2009 DCA regular season with a win at their own Fanfare 2009 contest in Bridgeport, CT. The Hurcs will now focus the next week on the Championships in Rochester, NY during Labor Day weekend, Sept 4-6. The scores from Bridgeport: 1. Hurricanes 93.563, 2. Empire Statesmen 92.900, 3. August 15, 2009 - Hurricanes Best Cabs in Toms River, NJ The Jersey Shore Invitational was the scene as the Connecticut Hurricanes took top honors over the Hawthorne Caballeros in Toms River, NJ. August 8, 2009 - Hurricanes Win 3rd Show in Kingston, NY The Connecticut Hurricanes continued their amazing 2009 season with a win over the Empire Statesmen at Dietz Stadium in Kingston, NY. The Hawthorne Caballeros filled the third spot in a field of 6 DCA corps. The scores: 1. Hurricanes 88.650, 2. Empire Statesmen 87.60, 3. Caballeros 87.313, 4. Bushwackers 83.163, 5. August 1, 2009 - Bucs Top Hurcs in Scranton The Reading Buccaneers took a crosstown victory tonight over the Connecticut Hurricanes at this mid-season show in Scranton, PA. Minnesota Brass, appearing early on the East coast rounded out the top 3, which saw the top-6 finalists from 2008 DCA Finals in the same show. The scores: 1. Buccaneers 88.963 (.3), 2. July 11, 2009 - Bucs Best Hurricanes at Cabs Show The first season matchup between the Connecticut Hurricanes and the Reading Buccaneers was closely contested as the Bucs, DCA defending champions, bested the Hurricanes in Wayne.
